Hi everyone. What a week! At the beginning of the week, things were status quo and I headed off to Seattle for a few days. Unfortunately, on Wednesday morning I got a call at 4am PST from Shara's Mom telling me Shara became more dilated, started contracting and was being moved to Labor and Delivery. Needless-to-say the flight home felt like an eternity. By the time I got home, the contractions had steadied through increased medication.
Then, that evening, when we thought things were flattening out, Shara thought she felt a slight pop. We called the doctor in just in case, and sure enough, Baby A's sac had ruptured. Having seen what this meant in the movies, we thought the SD3 were coming right then. Fortunately, we learned that the baby can still stay inside a ruptured sac as they replenish their fluids. The trade off though was that she could no longer be on any contraction medicine and could be at risk for infection. Also, Baby A needed to be put on 24 hour heart monitoring just in case. Lastly, Baby A needs to get a bio-physical daily. This means that he gets looked at via ultrasound to ensure he is moving like he should, he practices breathing like he should and has adequate fluid in his sac.
With all of this going on, Shara has been doing well. We have had contractions, but that is expected. She is on strict bed rest, meaning that she cannot leave her bed whatsoever and actually she has to lie on an incline, which is make it hard for her to even eat. However, between her Mom and I feeding her the messy things, she has been able to eat lots of spaghetti and meatballs, meat loaf and mashed potatoes, cheese steak and of course french fries!!!!
The SD3 are now 26 weeks and 2 days. We are seeing things through one hour, one day at a time. We really appreciate everyone's well wishes, thoughts, and prayers. Please keep em coming, they mean so much.

Shara and Mike,
I have been thinking of you and meaning to call you, but can't seem to find your number...I decided today to check your blog and read this. Shara keep up the good work you are doing. I know it is hard but the reward is worth it!!! I am working this Sunday at AMH so I will try to pop up and see you if we aren't too crazy. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call. i think you have my number, if not shoot me an e-mail with your number and I will call you. Take care and i am thinking of you both.

Even though I am some 1200 miles away you know I am thinking about you and Mike all the time. Thanks to your Mom I am pretty well informed about everything that you are going through. Although I wish I could be there to hold your hand-wash your hair and do a pedicure (which I can't even do on myself) add a polish change to the list that I can do!I would be there in a heart beat. Mom tells my all the time how good you are through all of this - but I never doubted you would do anything else. As Mike said our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I'll see you all soon!
Love, Nanci
